Saturday in Zolder Part 2 - Kiss wins Race 1 in Turn 1

11. September 2021Zolder - Dark clouds began to gather on the formation lap, and a few drops started to fall. Some of the truck racers had their wipers switched on, but every metre of the 4 km track proved as good for grip as if it were bone dry.
Not that it mattered to polesitter Norbert Kiss – he forged into the lead at the first corner and stayed there unchallenged for all 12 laps. Hahn, Lenz, and Albacete followed till the flag in grid order. A couple of laps before the end there was a bit of drama as Hahn, who had received a 10 second penalty for an overspeed early in the race, was handed 30 seconds more for a second infringement. The net effect was to drop the Iveco pilot to P12, promoting Albacete to the podium behind Lenz. Lacko, Kursim, Reinert, Calvet, Halm, Anderson, and Steffen Faas completed the Top 10.
The German Scania pilot with tankpool24 Racing Team made a spirited comeback from last place on the grid to secure P3 in the Goodyear Cup race behind Calvet and Anderson.
Titan was the top-scoring team, ahead of Löwenpower and Buggyra Racing.
