tankpool24 team will race a Scania in the ETRC

07. November 2019tankpool24 today issued the following press release announcing a change of team partner and marque in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship:
tankpool24, the pan-European provider of diesel fuels and services, steps up to the top flight in its 10th year of truck racing by bringing the iconic Swedish brand Scania, much loved by truckers and fans alike, to the circuits of Europe.
As you read this, a series-built Scania S-series semitrailer tractor is, in collaboration with Faas Truck Racing, being transformed into a tarmac-ripper for tankpool24 Racing. The heart of the truck is an all-new Scania 13 litre engine race-developed in the Netherlands to deliver 1,200 hp and 5,500 Nm of tyre-shredding torque.
“We’re delighted to have found in tankpool24 a title sponsor that boasts so many years of truck racing experience and makes it possible for us to race a Scania in the FIA European Championship,” says Steffen Faas, owner and driver combined of the new team.
After the contract with MB Motorsport (Mercedes-Benz) expired, tankpool24 is looking forward to the 2020 season with eager anticipation. “The support of the many Scania fans is overwhelming, and we can’t wait to watch the truck do its first race laps,” says Managing Director Klaus Kiunke.
Steffen made his FIA ETRC début at the Truck Grand Prix in 2017 in a Schwabentruck IVECO – and raced a Mercedes for tankpool24 in the 2018 season. The personable Swabian from Pforzheim is as crazy about the marque with the griffin emblem as anyone can get, and can barely wait to go burn some diesel in his tankpool24-fuelled racing machine.
