Draft calendar for 2019

12. October 2018Following the finale in Jarama, the FIA European Truck Racing Championship’s promoter ETRA released its draft calendar for the 2019 season. This is a provisional set of dates that have yet to be signed off by the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) of the FIA.
The dates for individual rounds represent the outcome of ETRA’s negotiations with the respective local organisers and circuits.
The Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring returns to its traditional mid-July slot, after having been moved around a lot in recent seasons, most recently to June. Ticket sales for this climactic round of the ETRC will begin shortly.
It’s not certain yet whether there will be nine weekends. Indeed, all we have is a TBA at the moment, signifying that the place and time for this additional (with reference to the 2018 calendar) event is open, even as ETRA continues to negotiate with prospective circuits and organisers. One thing’s certain – it won’t be the Red Bull Ring in Austria, to answer an oft-asked question.
If the TBA round doesn’t happen in the second week of May, the season will start in Misano, as it did this year.
The Truck Race of Slovakia will take place before the TGP, and the second half of the season will remain as it was, coming to a close at Circuito del Jarama in the first weekend of October.
Here below is the 2019 calendar, pending ratification by the WMSC:
