Friday in Jarama

03. October 2008Jarama - Same as the days before, today there was again bright sunshine, but because of a pretty hard north wind there was no real summer feeling. However, everything is so easy-going and relaxed that many people feel as if they were on holiday and even got a new summery butch haircut. Others tested the new fashionable vehicle “Segway”. The “most exciting” occurrence today was certainly when a task force of the police checked the manholes and the covers and then sealed them. The trucks of the Bird’s Team arrived in Jarama already on Monday evening. Last Saturday they took the ferry from England to Santander, and from there it was only a short day trip to the circuit north of Madrid. But in the meantime the other 34 trucks arrived at the Circuito del Jarama, too, and the paddock is jam-packed. Here in Jarama there will be this season’s biggest turnout of vehicles, but the maximum number of 36 vehicles for this track was not yet reached. As is well known, particularly the great number of Spanish truck racers, fighting for positions in the third part at the back of the field, will present the best show for the spectators, and there is no other circuit where the fans are more enthusiastic than in Jarama.
