Kiss makes it a sweep in Slovakia

11. June 2023Slovakia Ring - Reigning champ Norbert Kiss dominated proceedings at the Slovakia Ring Sunday, winning both races.
Having bested MAN colleagues Sascha Lenz and Antonio Albacete in qualifying, the Hungarian led them home to the finish in Race 3. All the action took place behind this trio.
José Eduardo Rodrigues got himself beached in the gravel at the very first corner, bringing out the red flags. The truck was recovered and the restart proved even more spectacular. A touch in the first corner lifted the rear of Steffi Halm’s Iveco and swung it 180°, landing the truck immobile in the gravel. This time race control allowed the rest of the field to keep going, with a yellow-flag caution at the corner for the rest of the race.
The concluding race saw positions swapped throughout. A damaged wheel rim dropped Sascha Lenz to the bottom of the field right at the start. Luis Recuenco led from pole till mid-race, when he was overtaken by an unstoppable Kiss, and then spun off spectacularly. Kiss was followed across the line by Jochen Hahn and André Kursim.
