Norbert Kiss wins both races on Saturday

11. June 2023Slovakia Ring - Norbert Kiss won both races on Day 1 of the second round of the European Truck Racing Championship at the Slovakia Ring. The MAN pilot took pole Saturday morning on a dry track, with Jochen Hahn qualifying a close P2.
A cloudburst just before the start of the race drenched the circuit, and the start was promptly delayed by around half an hour, the trucks doing their first lap under yellow flags. Kiss was followed to the finish by Antonio Albacete and Sascha Lenz.
Dark clouds began to gather over the start formation for Race 2, but the start this time was dry. The rain began to bucket down towards mid-race, a godsend for Kiss, who closed in on and seized the lead from Hahn, having overpowered early leader André Kursim a lap earlier. The race was neutralised almost immediately thereafter on safety grounds, the trucks being yellow-flagged to 70 km/h till they crossed the finish.
