Kiss and Albacete win on Saturday

21. May 2022Misano - MAN pilots Norbert Kiss and Antonio Albacete were the winners of the first and second race respectively in Misano on Saturday.
Having qualified in pole position, the Hungarian beat Jochen Hahn to the first corner and led his Iveco rival all the way to the flag. Sascha Lenz, also in a MAN, fought his way up to P3 after a less than satisfactory Super Pole effort that saw him start from sixth on the grid.
Albacete, Lacko, Calvet, Halm, Reinert, Brereton, and Robineau rounded out the Top 10.
Téo Calvet took the honours in the Promoter’s Cup ahead of Shane Brereton and Thomas Robineau.
It was Iveco pilot Rene Reinert who led the second race for several laps before being overtaken by one competitor after another to eventually finish fifth.
A resurgent Albacete was subjected to unrelenting pressure by Lenz in the second half of the race, but held on for victory with an impeccable drive. Kiss completed the podium, and was followed home by Hahn, Reinert, Halm, Kursim, Janiec, Brereton, and Faas.
Shane Brereton took the top step of the Promoter’s Cup podium, with tankpool24 pilot Steffen Faas and Téo Calvet first and second runners-up.
