Sunday in Misano Part 2 – Norbert Kiss wins, Sascha Lenz is championship runner-up

17. October 2021Misano - At the start of Race 3 the weather was perfect for lounging around on a beach – or, equally, the penultimate race of a remarkable season.
Bearing down on the first corner, Sascha Lenz appeared to have braked a tick too late, dropping him several places down the order. Norbert Kiss took the lead following a brief encounter with Jochen Hahn, and Antonio Albacete clambered up into P3.
Behind them were too many trucks with too little room, and the biggest casualties of the resulting crunch were André Kursim and Téo Calvet – tyre damage forced both to retire forthwith.
While there was to be no change in the top three, Lenz wasn’t having any more of his lowly position and proceeded to battle his way up the order to P5, behind Lukas Hahn (Iveco), who was in no mood to part with P4.
The German duo were followed across the line by Adam Lacko, René Reinert, Steffi Halm, Shane Brereton, and Steffen Faas.
Lenz thus secured his runner-up status in the final standings and Shane Brereton the title in the Goodyear Cup. This race-within-the-race was won by Lukas Hahn from Brereton and Faas.
Team Titan took the win for pairings, with „Die Bullen von Iveco“ and Löwenpower bringing up the two lower steps of the podium.
