Sunday in Jarama Part 2 - Kiss wins race 3

03. October 2021Jarama - A truck from the Spanish championship had leaked copious amounts of diesel and oil over sections of the circuit, delaying the start of Race 3 by, as it turned out, more than an hour and a half. The steady rain didn’t help the mopping-up any, and the track was still very slippery in the final section between Turns 9 and 12.
The stewards decided to allow the drivers to do three inspection laps of the circuit and then vote thereafter for whether or not they should race. The majority having expressed themselves in favour, the formation lap was flagged off in heavy rain at around 15:10, the race subsequently started under Full Course Yellow for the first two laps and yellow-flag restrictions remaining in force at the aforementioned corners for the remaining 10 laps.
Norbert Kiss and Antonio Albacete were able to pull away from the rest of the field, rain man Adam Lacko’s progress evidently impeded by a broken windscreen wiper.
At the green lights Jochen Hahn made several attempts to pass the Czech, but wasn’t willing to take any big risks. The top eight, consisting of Kiss, Albacete, Lacko, Hahn, Sascha Lenz, Steffi Halm, and Téo Calvet crossed the line in the order in which they’d started.
Aliyyah Koloc picked up her first championship points with a P9 finish, ahead of Anthony Janiec.
Calvet not only netted pole position for the final race, but also the win in the Goodyear Cup ahead of Koloc and Rodrigues.
Team Titan triumphed for the third time in a row, beating Buggyra and „Die Bullen von Iveco.“
