Saturday in Le Mans Part 3 - Unstoppable Kiss beats rain man Lacko for Race 2 win

25. September 2021Le Mans - By 10 minutes to 6 o’ clock, the start of the day’s second race, heavy showers had drenched Circuit Bugatti and there was standing water on some portions of the 4.2 km of track.
As a consequence, the stewards decided that the first laps would be run under yellow flags, i.e. with overtaking forbidden. At the start of Lap 3, as the lights turned green, a battle for the lead immediately broke out between Steffen Faas and Jamie Anderson.
The beneficiary, though, was wet-weather wizard Adam Lacko, who sailed past the British MAN and then the tankpool24 Scania in short order.
Sascha Lenz and Norbert Kiss followed in his wake in the next couple of laps, unexpectedly closing in on the Czech in conditions of very poor visibility. The Hungarian made his move up on Lenz while the latter was attempting an attack on Lacko and, having tried and failed to force his way past Lacko on the penultimate lap, managed to move ahead on the outside of a curve in the middle of the final lap to plant himself in P1.
Hahn followed the trio in a well-earned P4, followed home by Anderson, Faas, Brereton, Albacete, Kursim, and Garrett.
Anderson took the top step of the Goodyear Cup podium, joined by Faas and Brereton. Team Titan prevailed for the second time today, outscoring Löwenpower and Buggyra this time.
