Misano postponed to October, season-opener will be at the Hungaroring

13. April 2021The opening round of the 2021 FIA European Truck Racing Championship at Misano World Circuit on Italy’s Adriatic coast has, pending FIA approval, been moved to the bottom of the calendar – from May 22 and 23 to October 16 and 17.
The choice of the seven-day incidence rate as the Covid metric in most countries within the European Union has made it impossible for the organisers to make any firm commitments when it comes to planning a race weekend with spectators, as in Misano. Pushing the event back to October should allow fans to be welcomed into the circuit – that, at least, is the hope.
The Hungaroring and the Nürburgring have announced their determination to go ahead with their rounds on schedule, spectators or no. That means the 2021 season will now start three weeks later, on June 12 and 13.
