National championships 2021 - Championnat de France Camions

11. January 2021The FIA released the calendar for this year’s European Truck Racing Championship in November 2020 - of course, a bit with reservation, because nobody can predict the further course of the corona pandemic.
Hoping for the best, organisers of the national championships in France, England, and the Netherlands have now gone ahead with their own planning for the year. Indeed, the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile has already published its 2021 race schedule.
The points from seven rounds will count towards this year’s Championnat de France Camions – including, in an absolute novelty, the results of the only round run in the 2020 championship, in Nogaro last September.
The season will kick off in Charade on the first weekend of June; the finale will be at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet on 9 and 10 October.
In addition to the events at Nogaro (June) and Albi (September), the French racers will also have their own separate heats at two rounds of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship – the Truck Grand Prix on the Nürburgring and the 24 Heures Camions in Le Mans.
Considering the outcome of 2020’s races in Nogaro, Buggyra youngster Téo Calvet already leads the standings, ahead of his MAN rivals Thomas Robineau and Anthony Janiec.
The abortive 2020 championship had 30 entries; we’ll have to wait and see how many of those give it a go this year.
