FIA European Truck Racing Championship Calendar 2021

17. November 2020After a Corona-gutted season, you’d hardly expect a calendar for the next to be issued with such alacrity – pending confirmation by the local organisers of two of the seven events scheduled.
In a year when it was impossible to know what next to expect, the situation for a number of teams is very hard. The entire events business, as also many motorsports organisers, saw almost zero revenues, and racing circuits were among the hardest-hit. Their finances depend not only on big public events like truck racing, the most successful FIA series in Europe after Formula 1 measured by the number of spectators at the tracks, but also vitally on club activities, presentations by carmakers, driver training programmes, promotional events, etc. Not many of these were allowed in the last nine months.
As a consequence one of the circuits, which has established itself on the calendar for four years now, informed it wanted time out from truck racing next year.
In the end, it should not surprise anyone if, depending on the course of the pandemic and the national laws and regulations, there should be one or the other change in the calendar.
