Saturday in Most Part 3 – Homeboy Lacko wins race 2

29. August 2020Most - A few dark clouds crept across the sky, but it stayed dry. There were some dark clouds, too, for polesitter Aliyyah Koloc, even though she made a very impressive start in only her second truck race. Realistically, the Czech teen had not a big chance against the vastly more experienced Reinert, and the Iveco pilot took the lead in the first corner. Teammate Adam Lacko did initially provide cover from the rear, but then, in the S-curve at the end of the back straight, he pushed past, followed in short order by one truck after another.
Early leader Reinert made a surprise excursion through the gravel on the final corner, and could only rejoin the field at the rear. That handed Lacko the lead before the first lap had been run, with Lenz and Kiss in hot pursuit. After a gap followed Anderson, who did a fine job holding up the rest of the pack led by Jochen Hahn. The hapless Koloc’s Buggyra, meanwhile, had taken a beating following contacts with other trucks and had to be retired trackside with a shredded tyre just as the leaders were starting off on their second lap.
No red flags this time, and the trio at the front proceeded to stretch the gap. Hahn eventually succeeded in making it past Anderson and steadily narrowed it down, but never came close enough to threaten the threesome, who reeled off lap after thrilling lap, bumper to bumper. At times Kiss would attempt to overtake Lenz, at others Lenz would try to jump Lacko, but in the end they crossed the line in the exact order in which they’d started the second lap.
Hahn came in fourth, ahead of Anderson, Halm, his son Lukas, Albacete, Faas, and Janiec, who took one consolation point after the abrupt end to his earlier race.
But then the stewards had their say, penalising Kiss 10 seconds for overspeed. Because the field was so closely spaced, the Hungarian dropped three places to P6. Jochen Hahn was third, and Anderson and Halm were each promoted by one position.
Löwenpower (Anderson / Lenz) emerged as the top-scoring team, followed by „Die Bullen von Iveco“ (Jochen Hahn / Steffi Halm) and Buggyra Racing (Calvet / Lacko).
Anderson took top spot in the Promoter’s Cup classification, ahead of Lukas Hahn and Faas.
