First race of the Championnat de France Camions in Castellet

18. May 2018Le Castellet - The historic Circuit Paul Ricard, near the idyllic town of Castellet in the south of France, hosts the opening round of the French national championship this weekend.
Today the truck racers had a rather relaxed programme, primarily taxi rides for sponsors and the press, and 45 minutes of free practice.
Not all teams are here yet, and as you might expect, defending champ Anthony Janiec in his Lion MAN was fastest of the field. The only driver who could match his pace was Renault man Lionel Montagne. Nevertheless, not all trucks figured on the official titimesheet. Moreover, it had begun to drizzle shortly before the session could begin, and
the racers all exercised abundant caution.
The real action will kick off only on Saturday tomorrow.
