WMSC: No changes in earlier ETRC decisions

04. December 2014The FIA yesterday released a short transcript of the proceedings at the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) sitting in Doha, Qatar, but there was nothing in it concerning the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. Manuel Vidal, president of the Truck Racing Commission, and FIA co-ordinator Fabien Calvet inform us that the release was incomplete — that a chunk of the official statement was missing. What’s clear, however, is that the draft 2015 calendar suggested by the Truck Racing Commission and first reported here on 22 October, is now as good as final.
The resolution at the previous WMSC sitting on 12 September in Beijing that the top 10 finishes in each day’s second race earn as many points as the respective placings in the first race, evidently still stands. Some of the drivers had remonstrated against this decision when it was first announced at a meeting held over the Zolder weekend.
The WMSC next convenes in Geneva on 20 March 2015.
