Sunday in Navarra Part 2 - Albacete wins again

08. June 2014Los Arcos - The mercury was now pushing 30°, though it felt much hotter in the absence of the refreshing breeze we’d had the day before. But this didn’t seem to bother Albacete in the least. He shot out into the lead ahead of Kiss, who’d started alongside. And then, when the Hungarian was next overtaken by Bösiger, it looked like the Bernau team was headed for a one-two victory. But Kiss determinedly recaptured second place towards the end, and so the podium places were decided. Behind these three the rest of the field lined up (as it were) like a string of pearls, in exactly the same order in which they’d started. Hahn in fourth was followed by Lacko, Vršecký, Reinert, and Major — who, by virtue of his eighth-place finish secured pole position for the final race. The two final points places went to Halm und J. Rodrigues, the latter collecting his first point of the season.
The team ranking mirrored that after yesterday’s first race — Truck Sport Bernau (Albacete / Bösiger) ahead of Oxxo (Kiss / Major) and Team Reinert Adventure (Hahn / Reinert).
