The 2014 calendar is finally official

21. January 2014Before we proceed, let’s get this said: Misano is definitely happening — only naturally, one is inclined to add. But this was anything but obvious last week, much to the irritation of all participants and fans of the European Truck Racing Championship. The FIA Website then listed only nine circuits for the 2014 season, with the glaring omission of Misano Adriatico. That this was only an oversight soon became clear, but teamowners and managers still checked back with the FIA, which then sent the teams and drivers a list that also included the dates. This too, unfortunately, turned out to be simply a reissue of the erroneous version without Misano. And so, instead of clarity there was only more confusion, now also among those who hadn’t realised the earlier faux pas. After numerous heated telephone calls and e-mails, we now know unequivocally that the 2014 ETRC season will consist of 10 races in eight countries.
