Preliminary Report for Most

30. August 2012After a break of 5 weeks, the FIA Truckracing Championship will continue in the Czech city of Most. After the constant stress of managing 7 races in 11 weeks - long traveling to Istanbul in the South, Donington in the North, Jamara in the West and Smolensk in the East - some took the time to relax and others tried to make their race trucks a little bit faster.
But the Championship’s ship sailed a long time ago and something big would have to happen, if the Champion of 2012 would not drive a MAN, no matter if it will be Jochen Hahn (GER) or Antonio Albacete (ESP). In the best case each of them can still win 240 points. In the most unlikely case, both of the two contenders for the championship will experience complete failures, then the MKR – Renaults would be back in the game in case they hang in there. In the last races the race trucks from Mario Kress tended to have the bigger problems, though. However, MKR had time to work on these failures. In the last race in Smolensk the “modified” Renault from the Swiss driver Markus Bösiger was not on the same level as the two best MAN, but the gap narrowed. The home race in Most will definitely be a big event for MKR. Their race team is only a few kilometers away from home and will welcome more fans in Most than at any other race.
For Buggyra – also at home in Roudnice – the race in Most will also be the most important event of the season, as well as for the Frankie Oxxo Truckracing Team. The head of the team, Frankie Vojtisek, is a truckracing legend in the Czech Republic.
All together there are 22 drivers that have signed up. The whole FIA-group will be there and also the two Iveco drivers Gerd Körber (GER) and the Czech Michael Matejowsky and also two race-by-race drivers. While the German does not only have a lot of experience in truckracing as a multiple European Champion, but also accumulated 42 point this season , Matejowsky had his victories mostly in touring car races. In Most the Czech will drive the second Buggyra – Freightliner and will maybe be able to benefit from the experiences his father Stan made. He became Champion in 2001 in class B of the SuperRaceTrucks.
The weather forecasts have constantly changed in the last few days. At this point it seems as if it will at least stay dry on the racing days. The temperatures are supposed to be around 20 C°, but during the night it can get uncomfortably cold.
