Preliminary Report for Misano

16. May 2012The Misano World Circuit is one of the most popular race tracks in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. It’s located on one of the most favored holiday regions close to Rimini by the Adriatic Sea. There the ship with the returnees from Istanbul on board will arrive in the port of Trieste. However, Trieste is located 430 km (276 miles) north of Misano, which will take them another day trip to arrive in Misano. Still, the train of trucks of the FIA ETRC should arrive at the paddock on time, in order to put it up and carry out all the other necessary services. Besides the 12 drivers from Istanbul Ellen Lohr with the tankpool24 – Mercedes from MB – motorsports as well as the race-by-race driver Gerd Köber with the Schwabentruck – Iveco (both from Germany) will be at the starting line in Misano. Everyone in the truck racing business is excited to see the Frankie Oxxo Truck Racing Team. At this point it is still uncertain if Frankie Vojtisek (CZE), Norbert Kiss (HUN) and Alexander Lvov (RUS) will be attending. The team just seems to be out of luck. They had severe supply difficulties caused by suppliers and one truck that was supposed to deliver components was involved in an accident. Apart from that everyone who signed up at the FIA will be attending this season. Both, fans and drivers have always loved to come to Misano. This race is perfect in all respects, especially for the fans. There are plenty accommodations. The holiday season has not started yet and even if someone arrived without a reservation there is always a room available. Tickets are also still available at the ticket office. Even if the weather is not going to be summery as expected, temperatures just above 20 C° and a low chance of rain (maybe only some rain on Sunday) will be perfectly bearable. If the race trucks are not on the tracks there will be enough entertainment inside the paddock. The companies are showing their best products and especially in Misano you can take a look at very unique trucks that are actually too good for regular transportation. There is a little confusion concerning the time schedule. The one published by the web portal “truckracing.de/truckrace.info” was conducted by FIA. On the schedule that Misano World Circuit published on their own website the exact time at the beginning for all four races is due to take place half an hour earlier.
