Summary Video Live Streaming at the TGP

01. August 2010Only one week has passed since the Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring took place, but for many teams and pilots there is no time to reminisce about that event, because they are fully taken up by the preparations for the journey to Russia. But the 25th TGP was a raving success – for exhibitors from trade and industry companies and the 202,000 visitors alike, and also for all those people who were following the races live via video streaming in the internet. This service can only be provided at the TGP at the Ring.
And the above statement answers the question that was asked frequently last week: “Will there be live video streaming available during other FIA ETRC events, too?” Unfortunately not! Because the Nürburgring is the only venue that offers a TV coverage directly from the circuit.
41,645 internet users enjoyed the services provided by the following teams and enterprises that made this live streaming possible by supplying their support:

ADAC-Mittelrhein – organizer
Truck Sport Lutz Bernau – drivers: A. Albacete and C. Levett
Bird’s Motorsport – driver: C. Levett
DKV Euroservice – driver: C. Levett
CEPSA – driver: A. Albacete
Team Hahn Racing – driver: J. Hahn
Truck Competición Navarra – driver: J. Mariezcurrena
BJP Racing – driver: J.-P. Blaise
Renault Trucks – drivers: M. Bösiger and M. Oestreich
ArvinMeritor – drivers: M. Bösiger and M. Oestreich
TeamRobineau-GTruck – driver: J. Robineau
bartscher.net – technical realization

Obviously many visitors kept the live streaming running 24 hours a day, because on Saturday, and particularly on Sunday, the servers almost reached the limits of their performance capability.
The feedback of the people involved as well as of the fans was consistently positive. But at the moment nobody can tell for sure whether or not a live video streaming will be available next year.
Actually, this matter relies on a great number of different factors.
First of all, the organizers and rights owners of the event – the ADAC Mittelrhein – have to give theirs thumbs up, and only then people can start to look for sponsors.
All those people who took care that live streaming was available this season – above all Lutz Bernau – will certainly try hard to provide this service again in the future; however they can’t promise anything.
