Truck Racing Dates 2008

25. October 2007In 2008 we’ll be back to having 10 racing events. Added to the circuits where the truck racing events were held in the last two years will be a new one, Donington (GB) – on July 26 and 27. That’s what last night was decided by the FIA World Sport Council. However, there is not yet the final approval on the part of the organizers and the National Motor Sports Association. Moreover, the year 2008 will be a demanding one for the truck racers. Not only in regards to the additional racing event, but there will be rather short intervals between the rounds. And between the races in Zolder on September 13 and 14, and the Le Mans event on September 20 and 21, there is not more than one week.
The opening of the season will again take place in Barcelona on May 10 and 11, which is the Whit weekend. Then there will be an interval of two weeks between the next races in Misano and Albacete. For Nogaro, the traditional date – third weekend in June – was put off to June 28 and 29. Next there is again an interval of two weeks between the annual highlight of the season, the Truck Grand Prix on the Nürburgring on July 11 – 13, and the previously mentioned round in Donington.
After the usual summer break there will be the event in Most on August 30 and 31, followed by Zolder and Le Mans, and then the final round will be held in Jarama on October 4 and 5. This means there will be four events within five weeks.
