Truck Racing Schedule 2007

Truck Racing Schedule 2007

10. September 2006At the 6th round of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship in Zolder the FIA announced their provisional truck racing schedule for the coming year. There will probably be 9 races again where points can be scored, although the agreements between the ADAC Mittelrhein and the FIA regarding the Truck Grand Prix on the Ring are not yet completely “signed, sealed and delivered”. For the circuit in Assen there is still no replacement being found, and again there are no races of the FIA European Championship in England and Scandinavia. Instead there are again three races in Spain, two in France and one each in Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy.
And next year’s schedule is a bit more balanced than this year’s. Between the first and second round, as well as the fifth and second one there are again 7 long weeks, but otherwise we are back to a two or three week rhythm.
But there are two substantial changes the truck racing fan will have to get used to. Misano and Zolder switched positions, because there will be a round of the Moto-GP World Championship at the Adria race track next summer and they prefer to have the race trucks there after the Moto-GP race. Furthermore the race in Le Mans will be a bit earlier than usual – at the beginning of September – firstly, to avoid unpredictable weather conditions and secondly, to comply with the request of many of the teams to have the final race in Jarama again.
