Norbert Kiss and Antonio Albacete win on Sunday
14. July 2024Nürburgring - With more than 130,000 footfalls at the Nürburgring over the weekend, the Truck Grand Prix was once again the highlight of the European season thus far. And Sunday’s races were among the most exciting we’ve seen in a while. The day’s first race saw Jochen Hahn outrun polesitter Norbert Kiss to the first corner and stay ahead till the penultimate lap. Lap after lap the two champions kept the crowd at the edge of their seats. The relentless Hungarian finally saw a gap and lost no time getting his MAN alongside, and then past, Hahn’s Iveco. Sascha Lenz followed them home in P3.
José Eduardo Rodrigues topped the Chrome classification, followed by Lukas Hahn and Mark Taylor.
The final race of the weekend would have Steffi Halm on pole. But it was Antonio Albacete, starting alongside, who emerged leader from the crush at the first corner and went on to win, chased to the flag by Jochen Hahn. Lenz came in third for the second time this Sunday.
The Chrome podium was a redux of the earlier podium, with Rodrigues, Lukas Hahn, and Taylor.
