Sunday in Le Mans Part 2 - Kiss wins Race 3

26. September 2021Le Mans - Circuit Bugatti saw a few spells of heavy rain between qualifying and the race, and the stewards prescribed a first lap under Full Course Yellow – as for Race 2 yesterday.
At the green, the top trio of Norbert Kiss, Sascha Lenz, and Jochen Hahn took off from the rest of the field. On a still rather wet track, Lenz appeared to be a tick faster than the MAN in front, whom he followed around so closely as if in tow. Lurking right behind them, Jochen Hahn in the lead Iveco was hoping for a mistake from either of the pair ahead that he could capitalise on.
But that never came. As the track progressively dried out, the gap between Kiss and Lenz grew, as did that between Lenz and Hahn. The podium places were thus decided, and even Albacete and Lacko in P4 and P5 had remarkably unremarkable races.
But from P6 down there were exciting battles for position between the Ivecos of René Reinert, André Kursim, and Steffi Halm, with British pilot Shane Brereton jumping into the fray with his MAN.
At the flag it was Kursim ahead of Halm, Brereton, Reinert, and Steffen Faas.
Brereton won the Goodyear Cup race, with Faas and Luis Recuenco first and second runners-up.
Team Titan wrested another win from „Die Bullen von Iveco“ and Löwenpower.
