Sunday in Zolder Part 2 - 11th victory for Hahn

15. September 2019Zolder - Hahn converted his 11th pole of the season into his 11th win in Sunday’s first race in Zolder. The five-times champion almost has his hands around a sixth title. His dominance in Race 3 reflected in the lead of almost eight seconds that he held at the finish – and the bantam from Altensteig looked nowhere near exhausting the potential of his self-built Iveco.
Lacko crossed the line in P2, having fallen back towards the second one-third of the race. His immediate pursuers, Kiss and Halm, closed in on the Czech over the last two laps, but could pose no real danger. The battle between the Hungarian and the German for P3, though, was intense, and Kiss crossed the finish line a mere tenth ahead.
Kursim and Albacete came in next, one second behind, after a very close contest that the Spaniard conceded by three tenths.
Reinert finished seventh. He’d overtaken Lenz at the start, then had the MAN stuck to his rear for several laps. For Lenz, P8 – and pole for the final race of the weekend – opened up the prospect of a third race win this season, given the likely composition of the semi-reversed grid. Three laps to go, the young German decided to attack but failed, landing up sideways in the gravel. All hopes of pole went up in a cloud of dust.
That prime position went instead to Jamie Anderson (MAN). The two remaining points-scorers were Oly Janes (Buggyra Freightliner) and Terry Gibbon (MAN). The three Brits took the podium in the Grammer Truck Cup.
„Die Bullen Iveco Magirus“ (Hahn / Steffi Halm) won the team honours for the third time on the trot. Buggyra Racing 1969 (Janes / Lacko) and tankpool24 (Kiss / Citignola) came in first and second runner-up.
