New truck racing team from Berlin

09. February 2018It’s been known for quite a while now that Berlin businessman Sven Walter plans to field a team of his own in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. Before an announcement could be made, however, a number of loose ends remained to be tied up. Walter quickly came to an agreement with Jochen Hahn (you couldn’t miss the Sven Walter Logistik banner script emblazoned across the front of the vice-champ’s Iveco race truck last season) to have Hahn – the most formidable race truck constructor of this decade – build his track machine, and Walter’s “Don’t Touch Racing” team will be good to go in time for the season-opener at the Misano World Circuit at end-May. It will be an all-new outfit, yes, but the crew are no greenhorns. Walter himself boasts an all-in, hands-on engagement with the sport that few other sponsors can, having wasted no opportunity to get his hands dirty as a mechanic over the last few years. The handpicked members of his service crew are no truck race novices either, and the Iveco will be piloted by tankpool24 Racing regular André Kursim.
