G-Energy steps into the sport as sponsor for Lion Truck Racing

23. April 2016G-Energy, a brand of the Russian energy group Gazprom Neft, is one of the new sponsors of the French Lion Truck Racing Team. Gazprom thus becomes the first Russian business group to engage in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. Peter Müller, who found the deal with the Lion team as the G-Energy representative, is no stranger to truck racing. It was his team with which the two German stalwarts Markus Oestreich and Ralf Druckenmüller won the last two SuperRaceTruck titles, and his successes in snagging large sponsors – latterly Deutsche Post and Volkswagen – are legendary.
Now G-Energy found the perfect partner in Lion.
The partnership of G-Energy and Patrick Folleas’s Lion team with Anthony Janiec in the cockpit of the MAN race truck is now official. Last week the team presented its brand-new race truck for 2016 and ran its first tests at Nogaro in the south of France.
