Race trucks at the Solutrans in Lyon

19. November 2013Solutrans, the biggest and most important trade fair in France for the commercial vehicle, bus, and logistics sector, opened in Lyon today (19 November). Some of the exhibitors here are using race trucks on their stands as eye catchers, among them truckracing.de / truckrace.info sponsor partners Meritor and MAN, and TRO partner Europart. The Meritor stand has pictures of Ellen Lohr’s Buggyra in its “Go Pink for October” livery, a campaign against breast cancer, projected onto the four sides and undersurface of a large cube suspended from the ceiling. At the MAN stand there’s Steffi Halm’s Lion Truck in the metal, and Europart has the Team 14 Renault, trucks that actually raced at the season’s finale in Le Mans. That required the respective exhibitors’ staffs to actually buff off the last traces of battle and polish the trucks to a fine lustre right on the stands themselves,.
In addition, some companies are displaying race trucks from the French national championship. Race vehicles of all kinds are growing increasingly popular as eye catchers at shows, and what’s more attractive than a 2.5m-tall, 5.5 tonne race truck? These head-turners tower over most of the exhibits and cannot easily be lost sight of even amid the thickest crowds.
