Once again, more than half a million spectators at the circuits

11. November 2013The FIA European Truck Racing Championship is second only to Formula 1 in popularity as a spectator sport in Europe. Even in 2013 there were more than half a million – 529,510 to be exact – fans at the 10 circuits. Once again the Truck Grand Prix on the Nürburgring (Germany) drew the largest crowd, more than 165,000. But it’s not only motorsport and truck fans that are so crazy about the FIA ETRC; 1,638 journalists in all got themselves accredited this season, 300 of them at Most (Czech Republic) alone. Apart from all the excitement on the track, the open paddock and the direct access to the teams and drivers – for a very moderate price – have definitely contributed to making the FIA ETRC one of the most popular and successful motorsport series in Europe today.
But the ETRC isn’t only motorsport up close and personal for the entire family; it also brings industry and trade exhibitors closer to decisionmakers and end-customers than any other event can. Moreover, race weekends provide companies an excellent opportunity to deepen their relationships with partners and customers in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. And so it’s no wonder that the while the paddock is a popular attraction at any race, space is always in great demand and, consequently, always scarce. To be able to offer their customers and business partners something special, more and more companies are engaging with the teams they sponsor more actively for image-building, or are becoming partners of the Truck Racing Organisation (TRO).
