Preliminary Report for Donington

28. June 2012Donington - Several teams from the European Truck Racing Championship drove straight to England after the weekend in Nogaro. That’s why it was not surprising to see that some teams had already put up their tents on Wednesday. This way there will be more time for service work. There are 22 drivers on the entry list, including the Russian, Alexander Lvov, whose truck is not ready for the race yet and the Dutch, Erwin Kleinnagelvoort, who had a bad accident with his Scania in Nogaro. The team hopes to have the truck repaired by the time the TGP takes place at Nürburgring. 20 drivers will be at the starting line and it will be the first time for the English race-by-race drivers, Steve Thomas, David Jenkins (both MAN) and Luke Taylor (Renault) to participate this season in the FIA. Last year the start of the season in Donington lasted 3 days, but this time it will only take place on Saturday and Sunday. Still, it will be a tight schedule. The race track will constantly be used and when the trucks are not racing, there will be races of various English touring car series. There are even more activities planned, for example clowns, concerts, shows etc. The races of the FIA ETRC in Donington offer entertainment for the whole family. Unfortunately the weather forecast is not very good and it is supposed to be the opposite of last weekend in Nogaro. Many truck racers say, however, that it does not have to be above 30 C° as long as it does not start to rain, but it is supposed to get rather wet on Saturday and Sunday.
