ETRC Dates confirmed by FIA – TGP Tickets now Bookable

13. December 2010A few days ago the FIA definitely confirmed the 2011 dates for their different motor sport series – including the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. As already announced in our report dated November 16 “New Date, new Tyre Regulations”, the 2011 season is going to start one week earlier; the truck racers will now meet already at the Easter weekend – April 23/24 – in Donington Park / Great Britain for their first trial of strength. Apart from that there are no other changes in the schedule; all other dates remain as stated by TRO Manager Fabien Calvet during the FIA festivity in Jarama.
Five times these dates overlap with Formula One events – Misano with the “Grand Prix of Spain“, Nürburgring with the „Grand Prix of Great Britain“, Smolensk with the „Grand Prix of Hungary“, Most with the „Grand Prix of Belgium“, and Le Mans with the „Grand Prix of Japan“ – however, the venues are always so far apart from each other that motorsport fans will hardly get into a predicament.
Unfortunately last year the situation was completely different when the Truck Grand Prix took place at the same time as the Formula One event at the Hockenheimring – a venue that is only 200 km or a mere two-hour-drive away from the Nürburgring, yet more than 200,000 fans flocked to the TGP. This means that next year there will probably be even more visitors.
Apropos, tickets for the TGP are already available for sale.
Just click on “Tickets” on this WebPortal, next press “Ticket Information” in the column “Nürburgring”, (this list still contains the 2010 dates, but you will already get the ticket information for next years’ TGP event), select the ticket of your choice and order accordingly. There are still tickets available for all stands, even the particularly popular T4 and Mercedes grand stands – and perhaps you will even get them in time for Christmas.
