Video – Journey to the Smolenskring

08. September 2010Christion Thumshirn from the TV station “schweiz5” is one of the press people who took the unique opportunity to accompany the truck racers on their journey to the first ever FIA circuit race on Russian soil – an event that will certainly go down in truck racing history.
Just like his race reports this TV travel report is also tailored to the Swiss viewers in the first place, focussing on the team with Markus Bösiger, which means that several times the commentaries are in Alemannic German, the dialect spoken in Switzerland. In the Czech Republic the Bösiger truck joined the small convoy of the MKR Technology Team. Now the language is mainly Standard German – albeit sometimes with an unmistakable Czech accent. The travel adventures this troop experienced on their journey from the starting point to the Russian border are shown in video part 1.
In Terehova they met with all the other truck racers, and together they continued their trip, forming a convoy consisting of more than 30 vehicles escorted by police. Video part 2 shows the journey from the Russian border to the Smolenskring as well as first impressions of the track with in parts very concise and meaningful comments from drivers and team managers alike.
