09. March 2009In many cases it is not yet known who is going to start where in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship 2009. New information is released only bit by bit. But as there are still nearly 6 weeks till the FIA’s closing date for applications, there will be some time left to establish contact and to find sponsors. However, for most of the 10 rounds tickets are available by now.
For the first time in five years the start of the season will not take place in Barcelona, but is back to Assen. As from May 8th – this event will begin already on Friday – the Dutch motorbike stronghold will be crowded with people from North Germany. After all, Assen is not only the nearest truck racing track for visitors from the northern part of the federal republic, but also the supporting programme with the ADAC Masters weekend will be organized by a North German motor sports club, the RSG Hamburg. The ticket for the whole weekend costs only 30 Euros, and for 150 Euros the organizer offers a special ticket – entrance and programme for two people, and it even includes a free ride in a RaceTruck for one of them.
There is no information yet about the round in Misano. In Albacete the tickets will again cost between 25 and 30 Euros – depending on the grandstand. The ticket for the paddock, however, will be 50 and 60 Euros, respectively. Nogaro – for a long time a bit controversial for several truck racers especially because of the old small pits and the narrow arduous access to the track – has now become one of the favourite circuits for many pilots. But with the new paddock and the ultra-modern pits the Southern French track became more and more an ‘object of desire’ for many other series, too. Consequently, there was no vacancy for the obligatory meeting several weeks before the actual start of the season, when the truck racing pilots do their test drives in Nogaro. Tickets for the race weekend in June can be bought at the organizers – 13 Euros for Saturday and 25 Euros for Sunday. At the beginning of July the truck racers will meet in Barcelona. Tickets for this event are not yet available. And on the fourth weekend in July the highlight of the season is going to take place. For the Truck Grand Prix on the Nürburg-Ring ticket sales started as early as last Christmas, and the most desirable category – the ‘Erlebnispaket’ (adventure package) which includes a ride in a RaceTruck – is long sold out by now. All other categories including the Gold Tickets for the legendary T4 grandstand are still obtainable. The weekend tickets cost between 39.90 and 64.90 Euros; there are reductions for youths, children and disabled persons. All these tickets include free entrance to the paddock and the Müllenbachschleife (Mullenbach section). Especially on Friday night the crowds will flock there, because for the first time the German superstar Sasha will appear at the Truck Grand Prix.
The next round will take place in Most at the end of August. The event in the industrial city situated in the western part of the Czech Republic always attracts the biggest crowds from Eastern Germany and Bavaria. The paddock ticket for the whole weekend costs 1,350 Czech korunas (about 50 Euros). 2 weeks later Zolder will become the meeting place for the fans from the western part of Germany. For the event in Belgium there are only day tickets available at present. In case of advance booking, the costs amount to 30 Euros for 2 days. For the last two rounds in Le Mans and Jarama there is no information available at present in regard to the tickets.
Further details – which are continually brought up-to-date – can be found under ‘tickets’ on this website. However, it’s not possible to purchase tickets via this internet portal.
