Truck Racing continues its Ascendant

Truck Racing continues its Ascendant

05. February 2007MAN, Mercedes-Benz and Renault, too, - the protagonists of truck racing, aside from the mere race truck manufacturer Buggyra – have definitely acknowledged their commitment to truck racing. The number of spectators at these events is rising again. And this should encourage other industrial and commercial enterprises as well to climb on the truck racing bandwagon. This means, however, that there should be sufficient media resonance. And here the internet is once again the leading media, with the website truckracing.de/truckrace.info being at the top. Although there was one race less than in the years before, the web portal counted 8,909,030 page views, missing the magic 9 million margin by merely 91,000 PI.
And also the fact that the TV channel Eurosport reported continuously, grabbed a lot of viewers. The print media in the German speaking area is showing their flag, too. “Trucker” and “Fernfahrer” presented truck racing regularly during the last years – sometimes to a greater and sometimes to a lesser extent. Perhaps there will be more in the future. ETM is going to grant truck racing quite a different ranking, not only as co-organizer of the Truck Grand Prix on the Nürburging.
tir-TransNews Magazin, published in Switzerland, reports regularly about the Swiss Bösiger Team, and in the journals featuring motor sports only, such as MOTORSPORT-aktuell and especially in the new EUROSPORT-MotorMagazin which prints race reports of about four pages at a regular interval, the FIA European Truck Racing Championship has meanwhile quite a different significance.
And at the end of the year, there is always the large collected edition of the TRUCK SPORT book, containing about 200 pages.
All this should be a big enough incentive to cause more sponsors to engage in truck racing. If only the decision makers would be informed more thoroughly about truck racing and the whole shebang.
