Preliminary Report Nogaro

14. June 2006There are two things that are always predictable for Nogara, firstly, in June it's always hot in the Gascogne, and secondly, at the FIA European Truck Racing Championship the paddock will be practically bursting at the seams. There isn’t a current entry list yet, but at the FIA races points for the Spanish Championship can be gained, certainly some Spanish pilots will start, as well. Furthermore, there will be some races of the French Truck Racing Championship and a lot of fringe events. So we are prepared for a rather hectic weekend, in contrast to Albacete, when there were a lot of gaps in the programme caused by the absence of the rhino's GT series.
In Misano, Nogaro-Boss André Divies had offered to the teams that, when returning from Albacete, they could leave their transporters and race trucks in Nogaro. Many teams made use of this offer, so that they will be going to the South of France earlier to do the maintenance work at the paddock instead of their own workshop.
It's quite likely that in Nogaro there will be the first rainy race of the season, because although high temperatures were forecast, there is a more than 30 % probability of rain. Lutz Bernau can tell a story about rain in Nogaro. Two years ago he got in trouble during a rather short but intense rain shower. Entering a double right turn not far from the finish straight, he sped straight ahead right into the barriers.
The TV report on Eurosport is on Tuesday following the races, June 20, at 22.45 hrs (10:45 p.m.).
