Long Interval between Races - EUROSPORT AutoMagazin helps bridge Time in between

04. May 2006Such a long interval between races is very rare in truck racing. The season has just begun - and there is already a seven weeks break. To counteract 'withdrawal symptoms', fans have to get the current issue of the EUROSPORT AutoMagazin which wrote a 4-page article – with a lot of photographs - about the opening of the season in Barcelona.
Certainly, the fans would have liked to watch another race in the meantime. During the previous years, there were always the European Races in Assen (Netherlands) in April or beginning of May, but because of internal problems of the organizer, this event was cancelled. And then the race in Misano, which - by tradition - took always place on the 3rd weekend in May, was postponed to the 4th weekend in May, although, according to the schedule of the Misano Circuit, the course would have been available for the truck racing on May 20/21. All this led to the 'monster gap'.
Afterwards, the teams have only 3 days left to rush across Italy and France to Albacete in the centre of Spain (a route that covers more than 1,800 km) where there is the 3rd round of the European Truck Racing season on the first weekend in June. Should a truck suffer serious damages during the races at the Adriatic Sea, this would possibly mean that the truck could not start in Spain and the pilot would not have a chance to score points.
The pilots are not very happy about this kind of schedule, and so it's not such a great consolation to them that their sport has now got a new platform in the print media - EUROSPORT AutoMagazin, the official EUROSPORT magazine for international motor sports. The publisher, MM-Motiv Medien GmbH, announced that, from now on, they will report regularly about Truck Racing.
