The Bird’s Motorsport Team were flying high on Saturday morning as Chris Levett took a comfortable start-to-finish victory in the first FIA European Championship race here at Nürburgring – ahead of fellow MAN driver Antonio Albacete and Markus Bösiger (MKR Renault).
“We worked hard to get a good set-up for the truck in Nogaro last month, so we knew we would be competitive for this event” explained the 26-year old British driver.
“We also changed the final drive ratio in France – and it certainly seems to be working well”.
ONE-TWO FOR TRUCK SPORT BERNAU
Levett’s victory was of course also a success for Truck Sport Bernau who prepare the truck – and the amiable Lutz Bernau was on hand at the victory podium to collect the “Team” prize with his other MAN truck – the Cepsa-sponsored example of Antonio Albacete finishing a strong second. This result helped the Spanish driver to extend his championship lead over Bösiger to 15 points.
