Chris Levett claimed pole position for Saturday’s first Championship race – setting a quickest lap of 1m.55.422s in the Bird’s Motorsport MAN.
The 26-year old British driver was clearly delighted with his performance on Friday afternoon (0.432 s. ahead of nearest rival Markus Oestreich) – but Chris revealed afterwards that he could have been even quicker on his second flying lap had his foot not momentarily slipped from the clutch to the brake pedal halfway through the lap.
“Now we’ve got to hope the weather doesn’t change too much… if it’s wet here at Nürburgring it can be really slippery. Even just a few drops of rain yesterday made the track surface very tricky” explained Levett.
“I would also prefer it isn’t too hot over the weekend, something like the conditions we have now (Friday afternoon) for the races would suit me fine. But in the end I guess it’s the same for everybody”.
Having secured pole position for the FIA Championship race Levett is now looking the complete the ‘double’ – by grabbing the top slot on the grid for the ADAC Mittelrhein Cup race.
