This weekend marks the 25th edition of the ADAC Truck Grand-Prix at the Nürburgring – and in 2010 we are also celebrating 25 years of the BTRA British Truck Racing Championship.
The British Truck Racing Association was actually formed in 1984 – coinciding with the first-ever Multipart British Truck Grand Prix at Donington Park, but the first full season of national championship truck racing in the UK took place in 1985.
The British teams have been regular visitors to the Nürburgring for many years – and British Championship points will be scored by registered competitors as a “race within a race” in the two Mittelrhein Cup events this weekend.
There are four further events counting towards the 2010 Delphi British Truck Racing Championship following the German meeting, at Thruxton and Pembrey in August, Donington Park in September and concluding at Brands Hatch on October 30/31.
